What is a Boosters grant?

Carrboro High School’s Athletic Booster Club (ABC) is pleased to offer the opportunity to teams to request funding through the ABC Grant Program.  The purpose of the grants is to provide teams with funds to cover the cost of items typically not covered by the CHS Athletic Department.  The focus of the grants is on skill development for players, teams and coaches.  A priority is placed on funding grants impacting high numbers of student athletes.

Team coaches and/or parent representatives are encouraged to request funds for teams.  Grants will be reviewed three times each year (approximately August, November and March) and will be emailed to each coach when the grant period opens.  Each grant will be considered and funded at the highest level possible.  Before the final award is granted to the team, the CHS Athletic Director will be consulted to confirm the request is in line with the overall plan for the CHS Athletic Department.  Given the CHS Booster Club’s limited budget, costs may be shared with the CHS Athletic Department and the team.

Typical items covered by the ABC Grant Program include, but are not limited to, equipment, team camps/clinics, and uniforms.  Requests for camps/clinics should be limited to $1,000/year (for more info, see “Grants: Clinics, Camps & Training” guidance).  Uniform requests will be funded based on the CHS Athletic Department’s planned multi-year rotation, at which time, the team, CHS Boosters and CHS Athletic department will share the costs equally.  Grant requests to cover the cost of food/beverages and senior recognition events will not be funded by Boosters as these should be funded from the team account.  For more info regarding funding, see “Athletic Funding” and “Grant Guidelines”.)
